Mark your calendars and register now! Join us for the League of Innovative Schools Spring 2023 Convening on April 24-27, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Hosted by Talladega County Schools, the spring convening will bring the League together to discuss and witness Talladega’s transformative work in action across areas such as computational thinking, project-based learning, college and career readiness pathways, school climate and culture, and more.
Travel considerations: Please plan to arrive at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel by 7 p.m. CT on Monday, April 24, for an evening Welcome Reception and to depart no sooner than 11:30 a.m. CT on Thursday, April 27. Please make travel plans accordingly.

Conveniently located near the city’s downtown district and 10 minutes (driving) from the area airport, the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel is a quick walk to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, Birmingham Museum of Art, and the McWane Science Center.

We are inviting up to three representatives from each district (including the superintendent) to attend the convening. If a superintendent is unable to attend, the district may send another representative to join us.
Recordings of select sessions and slide decks will be available after the convening via Swapcard, our one-stop event platform. There will be no virtual/hybrid programming for this convening. You must register via Eventbrite to receive updates about the convening and access the platform.
In accordance with current trends and comparable events, we are updating our safety requirements for the League of Innovative Schools Spring 2023 Convening. Convening attendees will no longer need to submit proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (or medical/religious exemption) or a proof of a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend the convening. We encourage all attendees to wear masks while indoors.
